Westbound lanes of Interstate 80 were blocked on Thursday afternoon after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a semi-truck.
According to Illinois State Police, the truck was heading westbound on the highway near mile marker 115 at Brisbin Road when it struck a pedestrian, who was in the lanes of traffic.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the Grundy County Coroner.
No further details, including the identity of the pedestrian killed, have been released by police at this time.
