Inbound Interstate 57 Re-Opens After Shooting Investigation

Inbound Interstate 57 has re-opened after being closed for an investigation of a reported shooting, according to Illinois State Police. 

Just after 4:45 p.m., authorities began diverting traffic off the roadway at 159th Street before allowing it to re-enter the highway at 147th Street and Sibley Boulevard. 

Police say that the victim in the reported shooting had notified the Oak Lawn Police Department that they had been shot on the expressway. 

Traffic was shut down for approximately 90 minutes as a result of the investigation.
