An infant girl was among three people injured in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday on the Eisenhower Expressway in west suburban Forest Park.
The crash happened about 3:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 290 near Desplaines Avenue in Forest Park, according to Illinois State Police.
A blue 2000 Hyundai Elantra driven by a 25-year-old Chicago woman was stopped in the right lane with its lights off when it was rear-ended by a silver 2001 Honda Odyssey driven by a 50-year-old Chicago man, police said.
The 10-month-old girl, who was not correctly secured in a proper child safety seat inside the Hyundai, was injured and taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where she was on life support, police said.
The two adults were also taken to Loyola, but their conditions were not released, police said. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the crash.
Two lanes of the expressway were closed to traffic until about 6:30 a.m. while Illinois State Police investigated.
