Indiana Man Confesses to Woman's 2014 Murder, Initially Ruled a Suicide

Police say Connor Warren Scott walked into the station and confessed to killing Kaylyn Whitaker in 2014

Police in central Indiana say a man has confessed to killing a woman in Illinois when he lived there more than four years ago.

Danville police say 24-year-old Connor Warren Scott of Danville walked into the police station Sunday night and confessed to killing 20-year-old Kaylyn Whitaker of Terre Haute at Scott's home in Martinsville, Illinois, on Oct. 31, 2014. Martinsville is located about 30 miles southwest of Terre Haute.

Her shooting death was originally considered a suicide, but it was ruled a homicide about 10 months later.

Scott is being held in the Hendricks County Jail awaiting extradition to Illinois.

Police say Scott had been living in Danville for about six months after moving there from Noblesville, Indiana.
