The Inbound Dan Ryan was shut down for approximately an hour as Illinois State Police investigated an Oct. 8 shooting, authorities said.
Traffic was being diverted off of Interstate 57 and the northbound Bishop Ford Freeway as police conducted their investigation.
The inbound Dan Ryan Expressway was shut down from the I-57/Bishop Ford merge to 83rd Street due to the investigation. Motorists are being advised to seek alternate routes.
Police had investigated a shooting in the same stretch of the expressway on Tuesday, according to authorities. Inbound lanes were closed between 79th Street and 91st Street as authorities investigated.
