Illinois State Trooper Hurt in Roll-Over Crash

The trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said

An Illinois state trooper was injured early Monday after his patrol car rolled over and crashed on Chicago's South Side.

Police said the trooper, whose name wasn't released, was on the off-ramp from the Dan Ryan Expressway to 87th Street around 1:15 a.m. when he lost control and hit a tree, light pole and fence. The vehicle rolled over and ended on its roof.

The trooper was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was recovering Monday morning.

It's not clear what caused the crash, and police continue to investigate.
