Chicago Suburb Named Among Best in US for Retirement

A Chicago suburb ranked among the top 10 best destinations for retirees across the nation in a newly released list.

According to personal finance resource GOBankingRates, the list is based on a number of factors, including cost of living, property tax rates and median home prices.

Olympia Fields in Illinois ranked 10th with a mean household income of $116,779, median home listing price of $185,000 and a property tax of $4,249 (based on median home price).

The village is known for its Olympia Fields Country Club, convenient public transportation access and unique architecture.
