An Illinois group has released the ratings of nearly 70 judges seeking retention or running in contested races in November.
The latest ratings, released Tuesday by the Illinois Civil Justice League, focus on judges in northern Illinois, including Cook County.
The vast majority of the judges assessed were either "highly recommended'" or "recommended" by the league. Just three judges were given the lowest available rating of "not recommended." The group released ratings of judges in southern and central Illinois earlier this month
The league is posting all its ratings and responses to questionnaires from candidates on its website, www.IllinoisJudges.net.
The Illinois Civil Justice League is a coalition of citizen, business and professional associations. It's urging voters to pay closer attention to sections of their ballots having to do with judges.
