A group of Illinois cities are filing a lawsuit against pharmaceutical manufacturers and a trio of doctors who allegedly ran a “pill mill,” according to a press release.
The municipalities involved in the suit say that the defendants in the case, which is filed in Cook County Circuit Court, played a role in causing widespread harm and injury and that they perpetuated an “epidemic of prescription opioid abuse in their communities.”
A total of 11 municipalities have signed onto the lawsuit:

The doctors involved in the suit allegedly ran the so-called “pill mill,” located in Melrose Park according to the filing.
