Felons, Teen Arrested While Robbing School: Police

Ida Crown Jewish Academy, in Rogers Park, broken into shortly after midnight Tuesday

Two convicted felons and a teen were arrested early Tuesday after running away from a Rogers Park school they'd just burglarized, police said.

The trio is expected to be charged with felony burglary.

A kitchen window of the Ida Crown Jewish Academy, at 2828 W. Pratt Blvd., was broken into shortly after midnight, police said. Responding officers said they saw the three inside the school and arrested them after a brief chase.

They were targeting TVs and computers in the school and had broken into the academy’s computer lab, police said.

Arrested were John Allen, 24, of the 1600 block fo South Hamlin; 19-year-old Dominick Wing of the 400 block of Ridgeway and a 16-year-old boy.

Both Allen and Wing are convicted felons. All three are scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
