An interstate Hyperloop—a fast-paced futuristic transit system—could soon connect Ohio and Illinois, TechCruch reports, with an estimated travel time of approximately 28 minutes.
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies has reportedly agreed to work on a feasibility study with the Illinois Department of Transportation and the North Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, according to the technology news website. The study would determine whether or not it’s actually possible to create the Hyperloop transit route from Cleveland to Chicago.
Federal funding has been requested from congressional representatives from “multiple states” in hopes of supporting the Hyperloop, TechCrunch reports.
HTT’s website says multiple other countries have agreed for similar studies over the past few years.
