NBC 5 Chicago is changing frequencies on Oct. 18. That means if you watch NBC 5 with an over-the-air antenna, you'll need to rescan your TV on or after Oct. 18 to keep the signal.
The good news: You don't need any additional equipment, and you only need to rescan your TV if you get NBC 5 with an over-the-air antenna. If you subscribe to a cable, satellite or online provider, you are already set.
Here's how to rescan your TV: Grab your remote, click "menu" or "settings" and find the channel or antenna button. Select "auto tune" or "rescan," and that's it. The TV does the rest!
A few minutes later, your TV will automatically connect to NBC 5 Chicago.
Remember, you only need to rescan your TV on or after Oct. 18 if you watch us with an over-the-air antenna. Don't miss out; plan to rescan!
