8 Holiday Pop-Up Bars in Chicago to Get You in the Spirit This Season

It's that time of the year to get into the holiday spirit - with some holiday spirits. Bars across Chicago are decking the halls and mixing up special drinks to stay merry and bright.

If you're looking for a place to celebrate the season, here's a list of holiday-themed pop-up bars across the city. 

Frosty’s Christmas Bar

Where: 809 W. Evergreen Ave.

Frosty’s has four bars and two dance floors and is open every day until 4 a.m. Because of its popularity, guests must purchase tickets for admission into the Christmas-themed pop-up.

Runs from Nov. 22 through Jan. 5

Miracle

Where: Sable Kitchen and Bar, 505 N. State St.

Miracle will feature a cocktail menu of 10 Christmas-inspired drinks served in ornate glassware. As part of Miracle, Sable Kitchen and Bar will host "Name That Carol! 'A Deck The Hall & Oates' DJ set on Nov. 29, as well as what the bar is calling the "World's Largest Ugly Sweater Christmas Party" on Dec. 2.

Reindeer’s

Where: The Chit Chat Lounge, 416 N. Desplaines St. 

Billing itself as "Santa's favorite dive bar," Reindeer's plans to give guests an escape to blow of steam from the holiday season, according to the bar, which will feature an assortment of holiday drinks and Santa’s Bar Snack Faves.

8 Crazy Nights

Where: The Graystone Tavern, 3441 N. Sheffield Ave.

Grab your yarmulke for the city's first and only Hanukkah-themed pop-up that will feature decorations, games and treats (even matzo balls!) all surrounding the Jewish holiday. 

Runs from Dec. 1 through Dec. 31

Santa Baby

Where: 3505 N. Clark St.

This Christmas-themed bar has specials each day of the week including Movie Mondays, game night on Tuesdays, Christmas karaoke on Thursdays and visits from Santa and friends on the weekends, plus more. 

Runs from Nov. 20 through Jan. 6 

Christmas Club

Where: Country Club, 3462 N. Clark St.

This pop-up takes two floors with multiple bars blasting holiday music. Guests can enjoy holiday drinks like Cousin Eddie’s Eggnog and Candy Cane Martinis, plus appearances from Santa and other holiday characters.

Griswold's

Where: Houndstooth Saloon, 3369 N. Clark St.

The Houndstooth Saloon transforms into the Griswold family home from the movie "Christmas Vacation" this season, complete with Cousin Eddie’s RV. You can sample some '80s-inspired food plus drinks from a tiki bar from the infamous pool scene. 

Runs from Nov. 17 through Feb. 8

Elf’d Up

Where: Stretch Bar & Grill, 3485 N. Clark St.

Love Will Ferrell's "Elf?" Then you're going to have a blast at this pop-up, which features containers of the "four main food groups" - candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup - on each table, among many other references.
