Hoiberg Tries to Motivate Bulls With ‘Inspirational' Clip

The Chicago Bulls are all but dead in the Eastern Conference playoff race, but that hasn’t stopped head coach Fred Hoiberg from trying to keep his team optimistic.

After the team’s shootaround on Saturday, Hoiberg told media members that he showed his team an “inspirational” movie clip before their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

From ESPN Chicago:

“We watched film. We watched the clip of ‘Dumb and Dumber’ where Jim Carrey says, ‘So you’re telling me there’s a chance,’” Hoiberg said. “You just got to go out there and fight. We’re still in it. That’s got to be our mindset, come out with great urgency, great energy, and hopefully we do that. We’re going to have to if we want a chance to be in it at the end of the game.”

The Bulls have made the playoffs in each of the last seven seasons and 10 of their last 11, but those streaks are in serious jeopardy this season. With three games to go, the Bulls would have to win all three and the Indiana Pacers would have to lose all three of their final contests in order for Chicago to make the playoffs.
