Hazel Crest Father, 2 Daughters Laid to Rest as Search for Killer Continues

No arrests have been made, and police said the killing was targeted, but have not elaborated on why

A murdered suburban Chicago father and his two daughters were laid to rest Tuesday on the city’s South Side.

The funeral for 39-year-old Dionus Neely, 10-year old Ellie Neely and 3-year-old India Neely was held 10 a.m. at 10 a.m. at Fellowship Church near West 45th Street and Princeton Avenue.

Police say a gunman killed the father and his young daughters in their Hazel Crest home earlier this month

No arrests have been made. Investigators have said the killing was targeted, but have not elaborated on why

"Anyone who could kill a 3-year-old and a 10-year-old, no matter what the circumstances were, that's nothing but pure evil," Hazel Crest Police Chief Mitchell Davis III said at a news conference Sunday.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the suspect.

"You cannot commit a crime like the one that was committed yesterday, and no one know about it. Somebody knows about what transpired," Davis added.
