Video: Harry Caray Calls the Cubs' World Series Victory

As the Chicago Cubs mobbed each other on the field after their World Series championship was clinched on Wednesday night, fans could be forgiven if they thought back to all of the legendary figures that weren’t alive to see the historic occasion.

Players like Ernie Banks and Ron Santo were on the minds of many fans, as was legendary broadcaster Harry Caray, who never wavered in his faith that the team would someday win a World Series title.

Caray may not have been on the call for the historic game on Wednesday, but thanks to an ad from Budweiser, released after the final out was recorded, we at least get a taste of what the moment would have been like with Harry on the mike:

Spliced with scenes from fans celebrating in Wrigleyville, the ad is sure to bring chills to the spine and tears to the eyes of Cubs fans fortunate enough to hear Caray call games, and deep down it seems fitting to pay tribute to him on a day that many Cubs fans have waited their entire lives to experience.
