Gunmen Tie Up Men Working in Yard, Stow Them in Garage: Cops

Two people doing yard work Friday on the Far South Side were tied up and stowed in a garage by at least two gunmen, police said.

The two victims, only described as males, were working in the 10300 block of South Lowe Street in the city’s Fernwood neighborhood about 11:30 a.m., police said. The gunmen approached them and ordered them into the nearby garage, police said. Once inside the garage, the assailants tied up the hands of the two victims and “put them on their knees,” according to police. The armed men then took all personal belongings from the victims and took off in an unknown direction.

The victims were treated on the scene by the Chicago Fire Department.

Area South detectives were investigating.
