Green, Pink Line Services Suspended Over Falling Debris

Powerful winds passed through the Chicago area Friday, leaving more than 57,000 people without power

Green and Pink Line services have been temporarily suspended over falling debris caused by powerful wind gusts.

Green Line service has been partially restored after a utility pole fell on the tracks, according to the CTA. Service between Harlem and Ashland on the Lake Street branch is now available, however the line remains suspended between the Ashland/Lake and Clark/Lake because of debris on the tracks.

Shuttle service is currently in in place for passengers, according to the CTA.

Pink Line service was suspended between Polk and the Loop and trains were being rerouted to Racine (Blue Line) for connecting service, accoridng to the CTA.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Advisory that was then upgraded to a High Wind Warning. The warning went into effect at 9 a.m. and will remain until 6 p.m.
