A person was struck and killed by a Union Pacific freight train in north suburban Glenview on Sunday evening.
Chull Kwak, 41, was struck by the three-locomotive, 137-car train carrying coal from Wyoming to an electric company in Wisconsin near Cove Lane and Dearlove Road in Glenview at about 6:40 p.m.
Kwak lived next to the tracks, a spokesperson with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.
Union Pacific provided peer support for crew members of the train, according to company spokesman Mark Davis.
