Girl Sexually Assaulted by McDonald's Employee

The man approached the girl in a McDonald's play area

A 52-year-old McDonald's employee is facing a felony charge of sexual exploitation of a child after he cornered an 8-year-old girl in the play area and fondled himself while she watched in horror, cops said.

Pablo Salgado, of the 2900 block of North Monitor Avenue, was arrested Monday night, nearly a week and a half after the incident at a Northwest side Mickey D's.  Salgado has prior related arrests, such as a 2003 charge of public indecency and a 1999 conviction for criminal sexual abuse, the Sun-Times reports.

Salgado was cleaning the slides in the children's play area when he allegedly attempted to prevent the child from leaving while he committed the sexual act, police said. They added that the young girl was only able to escape after another child distracted Salgado by entering the area.

Grand Central Area Police were notified three days after the attack, which occurred at a Northwest Side McDonald's on the 3500 block of North Harlem Avenue.
