A young girl was saved after almost drowning Tuesday in Lake Michigan while swimming near a popular North Side beach, officials said.
The girl, about 13 years old, was swimming near Montrose Beach when others noticed she went under water. It was unclear who pulled her from the water but paramedics resuscitated her after performing CPR.
Fire officials said she was “speaking and breathing on her own” but she was still transported to Weiss Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
No other information was immediately available.
