Girl Punched, Woman Robbed by Teens on Mag Mile

A visiting Florida teen was punched in the face when she tried to stop a mob of teens from robbing another tourist on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.

The 15-year-old girl witnessed a group of teens robbing a woman of her cell phone when she tried to intervene, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The woman, 51, also visiting the city to see the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon Sunday, had only been in town for a few hours and was shopping with her family along Michigan Avenue.

Around 7 p.m. Friday, in the 700 block of North Michigan Avenue, the woman was grabbed by a group of teens and held down while one of them grabbed her phone, the Tribune reported.

The young Florida girl saw the mob happening and screamed at the group to “give her back her phone” when the group reportedly charged her and someone punched her in the face.

The 15-year-old girl suffered bruising and swelling from the incident.

Police reportedly arrested the teens after the incident

Two 15-year-old girls, a 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, three 15-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy were arrested in the incident and charged with robbery, according to the Tribune.
