Man Dies Nearly a Year After Gang Funeral Shooting

Police say no one is in custody

Deonte Ousley was one of two people shot outside a funeral for a slain gang member nearly one year ago.

He died Wednesday while in hospice care for injuries he sustained that November afternoon.

Ousley, 27, and Sherman Miller, 21, were both gunned down outside St. Columbanus Catholic Church while attending a funeral for 32-year-old James Holman on Nov. 26.

Miller, a documented member of the Gangster Disciples, died on the scene. Ousley was critically wounded.

Both men were documented gang members with an extensive arrest history, police said.

No one is in custody for either homicide.
