Cold Creeps into Chicago

Temperatures could dip to mid- to upper 30s inland and upper 40s in the city overnight.

A frigid blast pushes into Chicago Wednesday night, plunging summery conditions earlier this week into wintery chill.

Temperatures are set to dip from highs of 68 during the day to mid- to upper 30s inland and upper 40s in the city overnight.

Highs hang in the low 60s and upper 50s during the day Thursday and are expected to stay that way through Friday.

Saturday could prove a little milder with upper 60s to low 70s, and fall-like conditions trump the first blast of winter with low 70s into the weekend and early next week.

Until then, watch for scattered sprinkles Wednesday morning followed by afternoon sunshine and gradually falling temperatures landing in the low 60s by 5 p.m.
