TCF Bank will pay for skates for anyone interested in ice skating at Millennium Park on Friday between noon and 2 p.m.
Attendees can obtain skates by finding workers wearing bright orange parkas, according to a release from the bank. The initiative is part of the bank’s Pay-It-Forward program and is encouraging people to donate money for skates.
All funds collected will go toward the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The bank is hoping to raise $10,000 to pay for 30,000 meals, the release added.
Additionall, the Chicago Park District's outdoor ice rinks, which were scheduled to close Feb. 23, will remain open through at least Sunday.
