Dowell Loggains Lands Job With New Team, Reports Say

The 2017 season just ended, but it didn’t take long for a former Chicago Bears coach to find a new job.

That coach, former offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, has been hired as the new O.C. for the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Loggains, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Bears after Adam Gase took the head coaching job in Miami, will take over for Clyde Christensen, who will remain with the team according to multiple reports.

The Bears' other coordinator, defensive guru Vic Fangio, interviewed with the team for their vacant head coaching position on Wednesday.

Under Loggains, the Bears had one of the worst offenses in the NFL, finishing in 30th place in the league in yards per game. Their passing game was especially bad, finishing dead last in the league with 175.7 yards per game through the air.

In Miami, Loggains will be reunited with Gase, under whom he served as the Bears’ quarterbacks coach in 2015. Loggains will be tasked with working with Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who missed the 2017 season with a knee injury.
