Flights Cancelled, Power Outages Reported After Severe Storms

Flights are being cancelled at Chicago airports and power outages have been reported as severe thunderstorms move through the Chicagoland area.

As of 7 p.m., nearly 100 flights have been cancelled at O'Hare, and average delays of over 45 minutes are impacting travellers. 

In total, 91 flights have been cancelled at O'Hare, and delays are lasting an average of 48 minutes, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation. 

At Midway, flight delays are minimal, but 37 flights have been cancelled at the airport. 

According to ComEd, over 5000 customers in Cook County are currently without power, and customers can see what time the utility expects to restore electricity by visiting the ComEd website.
