A family is pleading for justice after their loved one was critically injured in a fight on Wednesday night at a bowling alley in west suburban Cicero.
Police released a photo of a man suspected of throwing a bowling ball at the victim, 28-year-old Damante Williams, earlier this week.
The two were involved in a fight at Town Hall Bowl, 5025 W. 25th St., according to Cicero town spokesman Ray Hanania.
During the fight, the suspect threw a bowling ball at the victim’s head, “causing severe injury,” according to a flyer posted to social media by Cicero police.
Tamekio Williams, Damante's mother, said he was critically hurt and in a coma. As of Friday afternoon, Damante Williams was heavily sedated at the hospital with skull and facial fractures and brain injuries.
"You just wonder what human being would do that to another human being," Tamekio Williams said.
Investigators identified a suspect in the attack from a video of the fight that was posted to social media, according to Hanania.

Police said the suspect drove away from the bowling alley in a 2018 Range Rover with a Wisconsin license plate of AFS3400.
Damante's family said they're now praying for his full recovery, and for the suspect’s arrest.
"My fear is that my son won't be who I know him to be," Tamekio Williams said.
Damante's family members also said they're concerned by video showing people laughing, and recording the aftermath of the incident.
"It's sickening that the first reaction is to pull out your phone," said Valencia Williams, Damante Williams' cousin. "Where is the human in you, the love in you?"
Neighbors told NBC 5 that there have been multiple fights at the bowling alley.
"Someone getting hurt that bad. Something should have been done a long time ago," neighbor Adriana Carrera said.
Carrera added that she is suprised the bowling alley has yet to be shut down.
Hanania, the city's spokesman, said no one at the scene called 911, but someone running away from the bowling alley flagged down a police car to report the attack.
