Family of 4 Injured After Porch Collapse on Far South Side

Two children and two adults were taken to area hospitals

A family of four was injured when a porch collapsed on the back of a home in the city’s Morgan Park neighborhood, according to officials.

According to authorities, two adults and two children were injured in the collapse Wednesday evening.

One of the victims was a 10-month-old boy, a fire department spokesman said. 

Fire officials say that the victims fell 15 feet to the ground during the collapse. 

All four victims are said to be in serious-to-critical, but stable condition, according to the Chicago fire department.

No other details were immediately available.
