“Family Disturbance” Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured

Suspect remains on the loose

The car of a man wanted in the murder of one person and the wounding of two others was found burning in Rockford on Thursday, but the suspect remained on the loose.

Authorities say 28-year-old Karl O. Tynes is a cousin of one of the men shot Thursday in Bolingbrook.

Will County state's attorney's office spokesman Chuck Pelkie said Tynes has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery with a firearm.

"I don't know what would cause someone to come in and do that to a family," said Ivieyonn Bouie, whose 11-yera-old cousin was inside the home in the 100 block of Lancaster Drive, along with five other, younger children.  "These kids are young and for them to go through this, this is something that they will deal with for the rest of their lives."

Eleven nearby schools went on lockdown as the manhunt for Tynes began.

A warrant accused Tynes of stabbing to death 36-year-old Nicola Williams, shooting another man and shooting and stabbing a third man. Authorities call the attack a "family disturbance."

One of the man is hospitalized in critical condition and the other is in serious condition.

Anyone with information on Tynes' location should contact Bolingbrook police at 630-378-4772.
