A Southwest Suburban man is in jail, being held on a $12,500 bond, accused of sending his former girlfriend and her current boyfriend threatening messages via Facebook.
Christopher J. Bensfield, 19, of unincorporated DuPage County, is scheduled to appear in DuPage County Circuit Court Monday to answer charges of harassment via electronic communication, the Daily Herald reported.
According to police, Bensfield's former girlfriend, a 19-year-old Naperville woman, said Bensfield told her that he would kill her and her new boyfriend. The boyfriend was not named in the report.
Bensfield is currently on probation for a felony drug-possession charge from two years ago. His record also includes a charge for causing damage to his parent's Naperville home.
