Extra-Alarm Blaze Breaks Out on Same Block as ‘Chicago Med' Filming

Officials say the blaze was not connected to the TV show’s filming

An extra alarm fire broke out in the Kenwood neighborhood in Chicago Thursday morning on the same block where the TV show “Chicago Med” was being filmed.

The fire broke out in a two-story single-family home just after 10:30 a.m. at 4825 S. Kimbark Ave. Filming for “Chicago Med” was taking place at 4821 S. Kimbark Ave, according to Chicago Fire Media Affairs.

Officials said the blaze was not connected to the TV show’s filming, despite crews shooting on the same block.

Fire officials said an off-duty firefighter working with the TV show discovered the actual fire on the block. The firefighter managed to evacuate everyone in the home and called it in, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear if there were any injuries.
