Friday was a night Blake Peters will never forget.
That’s because the Evanston Township High School freshman sank an unbelievable buzzer-beater to lift his team to victory.
Peters grabbed the rebound from a missed free throw shot and with less than three seconds left, heaved the ball one-handed nearly the entire length of the court.
That last-ditch effort somehow found the net, launching the Wildkits to a 45-44 win over Maine South High School.
Fans naturally stormed the court, and the shot earned the distinction of being the number 1 play on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays of the day.
