Evanston Police Seek Suspect Who Stabbed Dog

A suburban police department is seeking the public’s help in finding a man who allegedly stabbed a couple’s dog while they were out for a walk.

According to Evanston police, a couple was walking their dog in the 800 block of Church Street when a man stopped them and asked to pet the animal. When he bent down, he pulled out a knife, stabbed the dog in the leg, and fled the scene.

The animal is expected to recover, according to police.

Police have released an image of the suspect, who is described as an African-American male in his 40’s. He also has a salt-and-pepper beard and stands approximately 6-feet tall, weighing between 180 and 190 pounds.
