Man Killed in Route 41 Crash Identified

A suburban man has been identified as the person killed in a multi-vehicle crash in North Chicago early Friday. 

The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Route 41, just before the Old Skokie Road exit, according to police. Three vehicles were involved, two of which appeared to have rolled over in the collision. 

Eric Britton, 39, of Evanston, was taken to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and the Lake County coroner’s office. Preliminary autopsy results determined he died from multiple traumatic injuries from the crash. [[420060893, C]]

Police said five other people were also taken to Condell Medical Center, but additional details on their injuries and conditions were not immediately available.

All lanes of Route 41 were closed for several hours in the area after the crash, police said. The Major Crash Assistance Team is assisting North Chicago police with the ongoing investigation.
