Employees Arrested for Attempting to Sell Thousands in Counterfeit Clothing

Three store employees were arrested Friday after they were allegedly selling fake brand name clothing at a south suburban clothing and cellphone store, police said.

Sauk Village police, assisted by agents from major clothing manufacturers, conducted an undercover sting around noon Friday at the ABC Urban Wireless store at 2583 Sauk Trail in Sauk Village.

Undercover agents purchased clothing tagged as brand name items, like True Religion Jeans, but found the clothing to be counterfeit, police said.

More than 400 items of clothing, shoes and accessories, with a retail value of approximately $10,000, were seized. Other brand names included Nike, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Hermes, and Michael Kors, according to a police press release.

Three employees Firas Sulieman, Mohomad Kattab, and Mohamad Ramadan, were charged with felony violations of the counterfeit trademark act and were expected in court Saturday for a bond hearing.

Bond information was not immediately available.
