Emails released by the State Department show former White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel knew as early as 2009 that Hillary Rodham Clinton was using a private email address for government correspondence.
But Chicago's current mayor wouldn't discuss what he knew on Wednesday.
Emails released late Tuesday show Emanuel requested Clinton's email address in 2009. His request came after strategist David Axelrod corresponded with Clinton, now a Democratic presidential contender, at her private address.
It's unclear whether they realized Clinton was running her email from a server located in her New York home.
Emanuel told reporters at a Chicago news conference on school finances that he was honored to serve in White House, but the "farthest thing" from his mind was what server the Clintons had at their home.
