Music legend Elton John announced Tuesday that he is adding additional shows to his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, including two at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, set for Feb. 15 and 16, 2019.
Ticket presale starts at 10 a.m. Feb. 8, while the general public will get a chance to snag a seat next at 10 a.m. Feb. 16. Tickets will be available on Ticketmaster.
John announced his retirement from touring in January, and tickets to his final shows—including two consecutive dates at the United Center in October—quickly sold out, prompting the additional dates.
The tour, which kicks off Sept. 8, is scheduled to take John around the world through June 30, 2019.
The 70-year-old “Rocket Man” singer has toured since 1970 and has kept in the spotlight since then through music, films and stage productions. He recently appeared as himself in last year’s spy-comedy blockbuster “Kingsman: The Golden Circle.”
Several other aging high-profile musical acts have decided to retire this year, including Paul Simon, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Slayer.
