Police have a suspect in custody after finding a 70-year-old woman dead in her basement Friday morning.
Authorities in Elk Grove Village discovered 70-year-old Marilyn M. Wood Friday morning after a well being check.The victim was shot and killedin her home in the 1500 block of White Trail.
Overnight, a police chased the would-be suspect for 30 miles, ending up in the northern suburb of Glencoe. Officials say they believe they have caught the person responsible for Wood's murder. No motive was given for the crime.
