Cook County Circuit Court has approved the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners' request to allow three polling locations in Precinct 11 to stay open for an extra hour because of Tuesday morning delays.
The board sought the extension in the 23rd, 32nd and 50th wards from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., spokesman James Allen said.
The polling place at the 23rd Ward had to be moved from Connolly Victory Post to Royalty East Banquet across the street, Allen said, after the original location couldn't be opened.
In 32nd Ward the polling place at Stan Properties opened late after the door had to be forced open, and in the 50th Ward Ida Crown Jewish Academy opened late.
Allen said the court will determine whether to grant the request.
"Any voters who would cast ballots in these three precincts between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., by state law, would be required to cast provisional ballots," Allen said.
All other Chicago polls will close at 7 p.m.
