Elderly Woman Missing After Calling Daughter From Borrowed Phone

The woman borrowed a phone to call her daughter and say she thought she was in NW Indiana

Police are searching for an elderly woman after she called her daughter and told her that she was lost on Thursday afternoon.

The woman, 88-year-old Delores Eriksen of Palos Heights, left her home on Thursday morning to travel to Evergreen Park, but called her daughter at approximately 3:45 p.m. to tell her that she was lost, according to police.

The woman, who does not own a cell phone, borrowed the phone to make the call, according to police, and has not been heard from since. She told her daughter that she was possibly in Indiana, but was unaware of her exact location.

Eriksen is described as a white woman with brown eyes and gray hair, standing 5-foot-2 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds. She was last seen wearing a light blue coat and black glasses.

She was driving a 2012 Ford Focus, light green in color and with the Illinois license plate number AAE29. She does not drive on highways, according to her daughter.
