An elderly couple were found shot to death in their Country Club Hills home Thursday night.
Minnie Taylor, 75, and Leon Taylor, 77, were both found dead in the 17700 block of Country Club Lane, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A neighbor said he called police after seeing little to no activity for the past few days.
"I told them they need to come over there and check because this Cadillac don't usually stay parked out there like that," neighbor Charles Trotter said.
On Friday, the Cadillac, with "I Am Leon" tags, sat untouched behind police tape.
Friends say the former school teacher and steel worker were sweet, God-fearing people.
"We've been over, and they've invited us to fish and dinner. They're very nice people. Very nice people," said friend Rether Nelson.
The Cook County coroner said both had been shot in the head. Police said the couple had likely been dead for a couple of days.
