Eagles Copied Incredible Super Bowl Trick Play From Bears

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles helped secure his Super Bowl MVP award with a touchdown catch, and eagle-eyed Chicago Bears fans may have recognized the play. 

The play, which occurred late in the second quarter of the Eagles' 41-33 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday night, saw Foles haul in a touchdown catch, the first ever by a quarterback in Super Bowl history: 

The play is named "Philly Special" by Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich, but it didn't originate with his team. Instead, he got it from an unlikely source: Dowell Loggains and the Bears: 

That's right, Bears fans. In 2017, Matt Barkley hauled in a touchdown pass from Cameron Meredith, in the very same stadium in which the Eagles just won their first ever Super Bowl title. 

It's unlikely that Reich or Foles will send the Bears a Super Bowl ring as a thank you, but a note or a fist bump may be in order.
