Politicians from Illinois and Florida on Wednesday got into the betting game in advance of the Stanley Cup Final.
Bettors included the states' senior senators, Dick Durbin and Bill Nelson, and Reps. Robert Dold and David Jolly.
Durbin wagered Chicago’s famous Garrett Mix popcorn and 312 beer from Goose Island Brewery. Nelson, of Florida, put Cuban sandwiches on the line.
"This is the third time in six years that the Blackhawks find themselves playing for the Stanley Cup," said Durbin, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "The determination and skill of the Blackhawks came through in the playoffs capped off by the Game 7 victory at Anaheim. Coach Joel Quenneville’s team has the talent, experience, and heart to bring the Stanley Cup home again to Chicago and the best fans in all of hockey."
Dold (IL-10) wagered Chicago-style deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's against Jolly's (FL-13) blackened grouper from Florida.
"The Lightning have showed how scared they are by denying the best fans in the NHL the option to buy tickets in Tampa, but that won’t matter when we’re watching another Hawks parade down Michigan Avenue and enjoying a blackened grouper sandwich from Congressman Jolly," said Dold.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel earlier this week made a hockey bet with Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn.
