Duckworth: Clinton Must Testify Before Benghazi Committee

Rep. Tammy Duckworth officially announced her bid for the Senate in a video message Monday

U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Duckworth says she would hold former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton "accountable" for erasing emails from her personal server but did not directly say whether Congress should take action.

The Democratic congresswoman from suburban Chicago officially announced her race against Republican Sen. Mark Kirk in Springfield Tuesday after posting a video message online Monday.

The Iraq War combat veteran and two-term congresswoman is a member of the House committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. She would not comment specifically when asked whether Clinton — the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2016 — committed a crime in deleting 30,000 emails described as personal.

Duckworth says Clinton should testify before the Benghazi committee. The committee chairman set a deadline Tuesday of May 1.
