Driver Partially Ejected From Car in Interstate 80 Crash

The driver's car slammed into a wall before colliding with a semi-truck

A driver was partially ejected from their vehicle after striking a wall on Interstate 80 Saturday morning, according to police.

The driver, who was not identified by authorities, was driving on the highway near Torrance Avenue when they crashed into the wall on the right side of the roadway, Illinois State Police said.

The vehicle then crashed into the rear of a semi-truck trailer before coming to a stop.

The driver of the car was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the car, and was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Further details on their condition are unknown.

The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt in the crash.

Lanes on the highway were shut down for approximately 90 minutes while police investigated the crash, and have since re-opened.
