Driver Charged After 6-Mile Wrong-Way Trip on Kennedy Expressway

A wrong-way driver was arrested for DUI early Friday after driving at least six miles northbound in the southbound lanes of the Kennedy Expressway.

Police were called about a vehicle driving north in the inbound lanes of I-90 near Division at 2:58 a.m., according to Illinois State Police. It was not immediately clear where the vehicle entered the expressway.

The vehicle was stopped near Montrose and the driver was arrested and charged with DUI, state police said.
