Man Arrested For DUI Driving 118 MPH

A southwest suburban man faces several traffic violations for allegedly driving drunk at a speed of 118 mph.

Illinois State Police say Dwight resident Nathaniel F. Stainck, 25, was stopped on I-55 northbound just south of Blodget Road on Sunday before entering a construction zone.

He was arrested and charged with DUI, Speeding more than 40 MPH over the Speed Limit, Disobeying a Traffic Control Device and Failure to Carry a Driver's License on His Person.

State police say they will be patrolling work zones 24 hours a day through construction season, and are especially cracking down on speeding, distracted driving, driving under the influence and seatbelt usage.

The "Move-Over" law will also be strictly enforced, which requires motorists to slow down and change lanes away from emergency vehicles.
