Dog Reunited With Owners After Escaping on Indiana Highway

The dog was on the loose for 24 hours before her owners found her, with help from Indiana State Police troopers

A lucky husky was reunited with her owners after she escaped following a car accident on Interstate 65 over the weekend.

According to Indiana State Police, a single-vehicle car crash occurred near mile marker 253 on the highway at approximately 9 a.m. Saturday morning. After the crash, a white husky escaped from the vehicle and ran away from the scene.

The owners of the dog then posted a picture of her on Facebook, asking for the public’s help in locating the runaway pooch.

On Sunday morning, a Facebook user spotted the dog walking along the highway, according to authorities, and after state troopers tried and failed to corral the husky, the dog’s owners were able to arrive on the scene and reunite with their canine friend.

Police say the dog is back home and is doing well and suffered no injuries during the 24 hours that she was on the lam.
