A DePaul University student told authorities they were kidnapped Tuesday right across the street from the school's Lincoln Park campus and then robbed.
The victim was later freed and wasn’t hurt — but neighbors are still worried.
“That’s very scary,” one person, who did not want their name used, said.
The aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery occurred around 8 p.m in an alley on the 2400 block of North Lincoln Avenue, authorities said.
While walking through the alley, the student told police two men and a woman forced him into a car at gunpoint and drove away to rob him.
DePaul University Public Safety put out an alert overnight about the crime.
Neighbors say they’re not used to crime around here.

“I think it’s terrifying,” one resident said.
“No never, people are friendly and it feels like a neighborhood,” another said.
But this kidnapping and robbery makes some think about their own safety.
“I go with a buddy and I wouldn’t go out so late alone,” a person in the neighborhood told NBC 5.
Chicago police tell NBC 5 the three suspects drove away in a dark sedan.
Police are trying to track down any surveillance video and witnesses.
